Continuing Education Programs

In alignment with the Baptist Health Deaconess mission to improve health in our communities, the Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville Continuing Medical Education program strives to equip our providers with quality education that will allow them to provide optimal care to our patients thus contributing to the health of the communities we serve.  Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville (BHD) is accredited by the Kentucky Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians; this distinction has been in place for more than twenty years.

The BHD CME program coordinates continuing professional development opportunities designed to provide physicians and other health care professionals high quality, evidence based educational activities that will advance their competence thus helping them go from current practice to optimal practice.  BHD CME activities will encompass a wide variety of topics including patient care, medical knowledge, practice based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills as well as professionalism.  Content areas are derived from identified needs and practice gaps as well as learner feedback.  CME activities may include but are not limited to Regularly Scheduled Series (Grand Rounds, Oncology Conference), regional symposia and conferences including our three annual events, the Pharmacology Update, the Regional Oral Health Summit and the Dr. Loman C. Trover Symposium.

The Educational Programs Coordinator is located in West AHEC and serves as the BHD CME Coordinator.  Please contact Nick Duncan with any questions regarding CME at 270-824-3502 or Nicholas.Duncan@baptistdeaconess.com.
