Outpatient Infusion needs are provided in a separate suite within the Merle M. Mahr Cancer Center. Care is provided by specially trained RN’s who are committed to providing care for patients with infusion needs not related to cancer, including, but not limited to the following:
Injections and IV medications for diseases such as, but not limited to:
- Osteoporosis
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Inflammatory skin, joint, and bowel conditions
- Blood disorders
- Psoriasis
- Multiple sclerosis
- Alzheimer’s
- Asthma
- High Cholesterol
- Anemia
- Low Iron
- IV fluid administration for dehydration or diseases that affect blood pressure
- IV antibiotic and antifungal medication administration for non-transmittable infections/diseases
- Blood and blood product transfusions
- Blood draws from implanted venous access devices and PICC lines
If infusion services are needed, the following are required to help us expedite care:
- A referral to Ambulatory Infusion Services
- Detailed orders
- Detailed diagnosis and/or ICD10 codes
- Provider notes that detail the reason for the medication
- An Affiliate Agreement to maintain 340B pricing for drugs if orders are from a provider who is not credentialed with Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville
