Maternity Care

Our Approach
Mothers and babies deserve specialized care every step of the way — before and during pregnancy, during labor and delivery and after your baby has arrived.

At Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville, our maternity care team offers the personalized care, comfortable facilities and medical expertise you might expect from a much bigger hospital. Our team consists of physicians and advanced practitioners, including OBGYNs, a Family Practice OB, and APRNs. Each of these team members will share in your care, as you could see any of our providers during your pregnancy. Because we’re a small, community-oriented hospital, you’ll get a warm welcome and extremely attentive care from our expert medical team.

Why Choose Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville for Maternity Care?

Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield has named Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville a Blue Distinction® Center for Maternity Care, meaning we are nationally recognized for expertise in patient safety and better health outcomes. Western Kentucky families have entrusted our team with their maternity needs for decades. We provide an entire range of mother and baby services, including prenatal care, labor and delivery services, newborn care and postpartum support.

When you choose Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville for your maternity care, you can expect:

  • Thorough health visits throughout pregnancy:  In addition to regular visits with your doctor, we offer the CenteringPregnancy® group prenatal program. We’re the exclusive provider of this program in Western Kentucky.
  • Comprehensive health screenings and tests:  We’ll make sure you and your baby are monitored throughout your pregnancy for any health conditions or genetic irregularities. We are the only hospital in Hopkins County that offers specialized Level II ultrasounds. This type of ultrasound, which uses safe sound waves to create images of your baby, reveals more physical details of your baby than regular ultrasounds.
  • Compassionate, hands-on care:  Because our intimate Labor & Delivery unit works with no more than eight laboring moms at a time, you’ll get our full attention. In addition, Madisonville nurses are cross-trained in both labor and delivery and mother and baby care. That means the nurse who coaches you through labor will likely care for you when you move to a room in our Mother & Baby unit.
