Joint Camp
Education and open communication with your care team are key to shorter recovery times and quicker healing.
Joint Camp is an intimate class of 8 to 10 people. It is for patients who are preparing to undergo a total hip or total knee replacement surgery.
The program lasts about 90 minutes and takes place in the Commonwealth Dining Room within the Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville Hospital:

The Joint Camp is led by physical and occupational therapists along with our nursing staff. The goal is to educate patients and their families on what to expect following surgery.
This includes information about:
- Home safety
- Exercise programs
- Pain control
- Adaptive equipment
Joint Camp ends with a question and answer period to address any concerns you and your family may have.
Patients are enrolled in Joint Camp directly by their surgeon’s office at the same time their surgery is scheduled.
